Summer Outreaches – Make Your Community Beautiful!

Summer Family/Group Outreaches

This summer we are challenging families or groups to make a difference in their neighborhood or community by participating in weekly outreaches. So whether the number in your family or group is two, five, or twelve, we hope you will participate in our weekly outreaches to come together and plan as a family or group and then carry out the activity each week. Just sign up on the form at the bottom of the page, and then on Friday of each week we will send an e-mail about details of the outreach for the following week.

Then we encourage you to have a meeting each weekend to talk through the activity for the upcoming week and to plan the outreach. Use this form to plan the details of the outreach giving each member responsibilities in carrying out the activity. Please take every precaution for the safety and care of your family or group in planning and participating in outreaches in your community. Always have an adult from your family/group with a child if you split up into groups.

For this coming week of June 12th, the outreach is to make your community beautiful. You could paint some rocks and place them throughout your neighborhood? Or look around you to get some ideas of what is needed. Are there old garage sale signs from previous weeks on telephone poles that you could take down? Is there trash laying around on the ground that you could pick up – please take every precaution while doing this by wearing gloves and possibly using a long-handled “grabber” that you see grounds keepers using. If your housing complex has garbage cans throughout it, you may want to call the office and ask if they would like to have painted garbage cans? They may be excited to hear your idea and would provide new garbage cans and the paint and supplies to do it. If garbage cans currently in use are to be used, please make sure they are cleaned and dried thoroughly before painting them. These are just some ideas to consider, but we’re sure you can come up with other creative ideas.

After you have completed the outreach, then submit the details here and post a picture of your outreach on our “Bionic Team” Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/bionicteamorg) by Saturday night (11:59 pm) of that week. Then every two weeks this summer we will be drawing the name of a family who did the outreach during those two weeks for some great prizes. So for each drawing, you will have a chance to have two entries if you do an outreach each week and submit the information as described above. The prize for the drawing on June 20th is a $50 Amazon Gift Certificate.
